
Supports Available After Autism Diagnosis
There is no cure for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) however, early intervention with ASD specific allied health professionals can effectively help improve the symptoms. In B.C., the following amounts are allocated;

Under Age 6 - Up to $22,000 per year

Ages 6 - 18 - Up to $6,000 per year (with the rest of the funding going to in school supports)

Funds may be used for:

Behaviour Interventionists, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists

Life skills and social skills programs

Out-of-school learning support/tutoring or Independent school services

Specialized therapeutic activities and camps designed to address your child’s ASD

Dietary counselling from a registered dietician

Family counselling/therapy
-
Other interventions as recommended by a professional

Family’s administrative costs (e.g., bookkeeping services)

The family of a child diagnosed with ASD may qualify for a disability tax credit.
