I obtained my B.Sc, Ph. D and Medical Doctorate (MD) at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. Pediatrician specialty training was undertaken at the University of Winnipeg. In addition to Autism assessments, I run a pediatrics practice in Duncan BC. I obtained designation as a Qualified Specialist (QS) in Autism assessment from the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN).
I have been providing Autism Assessments since 2024 and work in both the private and public (VICAN) systems.
About The Assessment
Autism Assessment in BC must be completed by a Qualified Specialist (QS) in Autism assessment.
The assessment takes ~ 3 hours and has 3 parts.

Autism Diagnosis Interview (ADI) - A guided parental interview touching on early development, social skills, communication differences, repetitive behaviours, intense interests and sensory differences.

Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) - A standardized assessment which may use toys, games, puzzles and conversation to assess for features of Autism.

Results Discussion - The outcome of the assessment is reviewed including the next steps following autism diagnosis and / or what other diagnoses have been identified. Results and the final report are available on the same day as the assessment.
