Should my child get an assessment?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurobiological disorder that affects social interactions, non-verbal communication, and relationship formation. There may also be differences in sensory perception, self stimulatory behaviour, tendency towards repetitiveness, and a need for routine adherence. Often behavioural or developmental differences are apparent by age 3.

As a spectrum disorder, there is a wide range of how ASD presents.

There are other conditions, including ADHD and Anxiety, which can present with similar features to ASD.

Your primary health care provider or pediatrician are terrific resources to discuss whether your child should be assessed for ASD. â€‹â€‹
