Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder causing impairments in social communication, repetitive, restricted behaviours and unusual sensory sensitivities or interests. Signs are usually present before 3 years of age with an estimated prevalence of 1 in 66 Canadian children.

The best long-term outcomes are associated with early diagnosis and application of intensive, ASD specific behavioural interventions and therapies.

In BC, only a formal ASD diagnosis by a Qualified Specialist (QS) allows access to interventions and funding (up to $22,000/yr).

Unfortunately, the public system for ASD diagnosis (VICAN) has significant wait times wait times (20-24 months). I am therefore offering private, diagnostic, autism assessments for children up to age 10. This is in addition to my work with VICAN.

Our times are 1-2 months, at a cost of $2800 per assessment. This is the lowest wait time and cost on Vancouver Island.

An Autism Diagnosis is not guaranteed, your child may not have Autism. We encourage you to discuss with a primary care provider.

The assessment clinic is located at 301 Festubert Street in Duncan, BC, on Vancouver Island, and is by appointment only.
